Apple imports value decrease 26.6% in the first quarter of 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, Peruvian apple imports reached $7.388.084, showing a decrease of -26.63% compared to the $10,069,122 achieved in the same period of 2021, according to the Agrodata Peru portal.
In terms of volume, from January to March 2022, Peru imported 7.652.009 kilos of said fruit, registering a decrease of -19.11% compared to the 9,459,481 kilos received in the same period of 2021.
The average price per kilo of imported apples in the first quarter of 2022 was $0.97, while from January to March last year it was sold for $1.06 per kilo, which means a drop of -8.5%.
Chile was the main supplying country, with sales for $4,754,002, constituting 64% of the total.
Other countries: United States, with $2,171,925 (30% of the total); Argentina $312,079 (4% of the total); and Portugal $150,078 (2%).
