Objective of +10% for fruit exports

Thailand targets +10% growth in fresh and processed fruit exports

 

Local media report that the target is to export 4.44 million tonnes this year. According to the government spokesperson, the Prime Minister has instructed the Ministries of Commerce and Agriculture to maintain the dynamism of the fruit sector through new measures

 

These measures will concern production, marketing on the domestic market, as well as the search for new markets abroad and the multiplication of trade negotiations in order to minimize the obstacles to the export of Thai fruits.

 

The Ministry of Commerce predicts a turnover of 100 billion THB (2.9 billion USD) for durian exports alone this year.
