Bonduelle can now acquire Koubanskie Konservy to strengthen its industrial capacity and its leading position in Russia.
The Russian competition authorities gave the green light for the planned acquisition by Bonduelle (our info from 10/06/2011).
Bonduelle is authorized to take over the business assets of the Koubanskie Konservy, owned by French group Cecab. The company has a plant for processing frozen vegetables and a farm (6,000 ha of land in 25-year lease) in the region of Krasnodar (southern Russia)
.
The takeover of the company should happen quickly. Entering the market in 1994, Bonduelle is now market leader in canned vegetables in Russia and the CIS countries. Since 2004, Bonduelle has a plant near Kransnodar 30km from the Koubanskie Konservy plant.
