Zespri has announced plans for 1 million trays of RubyRed™ this year, or 3,600 tonnes. This represents triple the 2023 volume (Photo: zespri.com).
In New Zealand, the kiwifruit harvest season generally runs from March to May. The 1st variety to be harvested is Zespri RubyRed™, the red-fleshed kiwifruit now in its 3rd year of commercial production.
Zespri has announced plans for 1 million trays of RubyRed™ this year, i.e. 3,600 tonnes. This represents triple the 2023 volume.
Zespri RubyRed™ is now available in most supermarkets and fruit and vegetable shops in New Zealand and will also be present in markets throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, China, Taiwan and Singapore, and for the 1st time this season in South Korea, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
For the 2024 campaign, Zespri plans to ship a total of 193 million trays of all varieties to markets around the world.
