Chilean grape exports and industry challenges to be highlighted at GLOBAL GRAPE CONVENTION 2024

Printable version
Recent advances by the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the United States on the Systems Approach will enable Chile to export table grapes to the U.S. without fumigation. This milestone, along with the various climatic, logistical, and market challenges facing the global grape industry, will be the focus of discussions at the GLOBAL GRAPE CONVENTION 2024, scheduled for Thursday, August 8, at the Monticello Casino Events Center.

The convention will emphasize the importance of collaboration and experience-sharing within the sector, showcasing the real challenges affecting the industry and the value of international expertise. As the sector embarks on a new phase, joint efforts are becoming a critical strategy for success.

Key participants will include members of the Table Grape Committee of Fruits of Chile (formerly ASOEX) and the Association of Table Grape Producers of Peru (PROVID), with the event organized by Yentzen Group.

The Systems Approach in the U.S.
A significant focus of the GLOBAL GRAPE CONVENTION 2024 will be the Systems Approach agreement between Chile and the United States. This approach, which has been in negotiation since 2000, aims to reduce pest prevalence from orchard to shipment, ensuring high-quality standards and phytosanitary conditions. This historic advancement could transform Chile's competitiveness in the American market.

Convention Highlights
The convention will promote cooperation and idea exchange across various topics including commercial activities, marketing, consumer trends, and logistics, with a special focus on the Systems Approach. From 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., leading experts and key industry players will present past, current, and future scenarios, encouraging collaboration for the success of upcoming seasons.
