Appalling! children no longer recognize vegetables

One of four children do not make the link between fries and potato

Distressing results of the study conducted by the ASEF (France Environmental Health Association) with children aged 8 to 12 years at schools in the south of France during a quarter.

Among the students interviewed, 25% do not know from which vegetable are made ??fries. Lots of them are unable to name the vegetables, 33% do not recognize a leek, zucchini, artichoke or a fig, 87% can not identify a beet.

If these results alarm specialists, they should especially alert the parents. This lack of knowledge of vegetables is the result of poor eating habits (acquired or developed at home).
