Imports of potatoes are exempt from customs duties

 

 

A decree has just exempted imports of potatoes from customs duties until the 1st of January 2019. Importers only have to pay registration fees. According to the authorities, these imported potatoes also benefit from rapid customs clearance.

 

 

 

In Uzbekistan the domestic production of potatoes is not sufficient and the country is experiencing shortages. Shortages still amplified in winter. In the New Year period, the price of a kilo of potatoes has doubled.
