Turkey, with an annual output of this variety of 2,310,000 tons in the Aegean triangle Izmir, Manisa and Denizli on 1,020,000 hectares is the world's leading producer.
After the resolution of the crisis between the two countries, Russian imports have regained an excellent level worth more than $ 57 million for the 2017/2018 season, while the previous season there was no export to that country, which currently buys 59 per cent of total exports of seedless table grapes.
The president of the Aegean Union of Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Riza Seyyar, explains that it is thanks to agricultural techniques, such as that of covering the vines, that the producers have managed to protect their vines from bad weather and extend their commercial period until November and December.
