This year pink garlic from Lautrec celebrates its 50th anniversary of "Label Rouge" and its 20 years of IGP.
The year 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of obtaining the "Label Rouge". The pink garlic of Lautrec was the first product to benifit and it remains the only garlic since 1966 certified in France. The year 2016 also marks the 20th anniversary of the IGP, the label granted by the EU in 1996.
This year also marks a change in the Board of the Union. Jean-François Tournié who stayed 25 years at the helm of the structure is retiring. The newly elected president is Gael Bardou, aged 39 and producing pink garlic for 15 years. At the union office, he will join Eric Boute (Vice- Chairman), Jean-Pierre Coste (treasurer), Pierre-Louis Joqueviel (Deputy Treasurer), Cédric Pradelles (Secretary), Chantal Chappert (Vice-secretary).
2015-16 season: 162 producers, 5 packaging certified stations, 678 tons marketed.
