The production of cherries of Jerte will be lower
The harvest has just begun and the producers consider that the harvest will be lower than last year.
Angel Prieto, (from Association of the valley of Jerte Cooperatives) reviewed the production of cherries in “El Periodico Extramadura”.
On the final figure, he's expecting to" a harvest more low than last year, between 20 and 30 % less, with a production from 12 to 14 million kilos all in all ".
However, Angel Prieto was not able to specify the exact causes of the decrease planned by the production. The weather conditions were "completely acceptable" during the period of bloom.
