Iran competes with Turkish raisins

This year, the freeze has caused many damages and price of Turkish raisins are on the rise. Since 2014, the Iranian- dried raisins benefit from tax exemption on importation into Turkey free zone and these products cheaper because of the embargo on Iran and substandard compared to Turkish raisins, are repackaged and sent in a free zone in the European markets with the label " Turkish Origin ". Some companies have transferred their packaging facilities in the free zone of Mersin.
According to the General Director of Taris Grape Union, exporters who act in this way, damage the image of Turkish products in European markets , causing significant losses from the export point of view.
