Chile is back on Fruit Attraction with the aim of opening up new markets.
For the second consecutive year, Chile is exhibiting at Fruit Attraction which is considered the gateway for export to Europe.
ASOEX, the Association of Chilean exporters and ProChile, the organization of export assistance, gathered many companies to participate in Fruit Attraction 2014. The goal is to increase contacts and to open new markets for Chilean exports.
Europe is a major customer for Chilean exports, coming in 2nd place just behind the United States. During the 2013/14 season Chile recorded a decline in exports as a result of the severe frosts that affected production and strikes in the ports that have paralyzed shipments. Exports decreased by approximately 11.4% from the previous season, mainly to the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
