Forecast for Argentinian Citrus Production

Argentina is expected to produce 1.27 million tons of fresh lemons.

According to semi-annual forecasts, the production of lemons will decrease slightly and the production of oranges and mandarins will remain stable.

 
 
The USDA's Global Agriculture Information Network (GAIN) report forecasts citrus production forecasts in Argentina. Fresh lemon production is expected to decline slightly to 1.27 million tons, down from 1.37 million tons. This decline was due to the freeze that affected the main region of production in early September 2016, followed by high summer temperatures and excess rain in March.
 
 
 
On the contrary, upward revision for the production of oranges (680 000 tonn) and mandarins (300 000 tons).
