Good results for the Central American countries that recorded a 7% increase in exports
The Central American exports have registered an increase of 7% in 2012.
SIECA - Secretaría de Integración Económica Centroamericana based in Guatemala - declared that in 2012 the exports of the countries of Central America have increased by 7% over the previous year.
Exports in 2012 in the area are estimated at 29,635,000 dollars. The products that have contributed to this growth include coffee, tea, spices, fruits, melons and watermelons. The United States are still the main export destination area, with 33.3% of the total, followed by the trade between the countries of Central America (25.2%) and in third place by the European Union (14.7%).
