After rice and garlic it is carrot which is records a phenomenal increase.
Philippine consumers have to deal with continually increasing prices, after rice and garlic that have strong gains, here carrots experience an increase of nearly +40%.
Agricultural production is downswing, because of the the next rainy season. But intermediaries are suspected to block certain stocks to take advantage of rising prices.
At Quezon City the price increased from 100P to 140P, wholesalers negotiate carrots to120P per kilo, while the normal price is about 70P.
