Vegetables whose production and export volumes rise

In Mexico, vegetables such as eggplant, green tomato, broccoli and cauliflower show increases in production and export volumes.
In 2021, the eggplant was the one that increased its production volumes the most, totaling 126.000 tons, 14.000 tons more than in 2020. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, its exports totaled 78.815 tons, which is 1.309 tons more than last year.
This Mexican vegetable is exported to the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, and Cuba.
Broccoli production in 2021 reached 596.000 tons, which is 13.000 tons more (2.2%) than in 2020.
Of this amount, 459.400 tons were exported, of which 451.662 were sent to the US, generating revenues of $544.983.417.
Cauliflower maintained its production volume close to 100.000 tons and the volume of green tomato went from 767.000 to 787.000 tons, a variation of +2.6% compared to 2020.
Most of this volume was exported to the United States ($80.6 million).
