Table grape export season would close with 20% increase in volume

Peruvian fresh table grapes exports in the period from May to December 27, 2021, totaled 281,000 tons, showing an increase of 17% compared to the 240,000 tons exported in the same period of 2020, according to the president of the consulting firm Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz Benavides.
The Peruvian table grape season runs from October to March, with the peak in December and January.
The behavior of grape exports in the 2021/22 season was as follows: 36,500,000 kilos in October, 97,109,517 kilos in November, and 138,319,549 kilos as of December 27, while in October 2020, there were 37,000,000 kilos sent, 80,875,744 in November, and 138,401,346 in December.
Cillóniz stated that in the 2021/2022 campaign they will have more late grapes, particularly in February and March. Due to this, at the end of the season, Peruvian grape exports would increase 20% in volume, compared to the 2020/21.
The main destinations are the United States, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, China, Hong Kong, among others.
