It was in the weeks preceding the Super Bowl (championship game of American football) that imports avocado are the most important. Coming from Mexico, Chile, Peru and New Zealand.
Delivered anywhere in the USA within 48 hours after harvest, avocados of Mexico come out great winners of imports. Approximately 90% of avocados consumed for the Super Bowl come from Mexico.
American production comes later, in California the season extends from February-March and September.
