Lidl is the 1st customer of Spanish fruits and vegetables

The supermarket chain Lidl is the N1 client of fruits and vegetables from Spain.

In 2012, the supermarket chain Lidl has bought 960,000 tons of Spanish fruits and vegetables. This volume places Lild on the top of the ranking of buyers.

Over the past 5 years, purchases of Lidl with Spanish suppliers have increased by more than 22%. The number of suppliers in Spain has increased and passed from 230 in 2008 to 368 this year (+60%) and concern different sectors (meat, grocery store). Lidl operates 527 stores in Spain and more than 10,000 across Europe.
