This year the total amount of food expenditure in the US for the celebration of the 4th of July will reach $6.7 billion.
July 4th is one of the best times of the year for food and beverages sales. In total, Americans are spending $ 6.7 billion on food this year. That's about $73 per person. This figure predicted by NRF (National Retail Federation) is a little behind last year where $6.94 billion had been spent.
According to the NRF nearly 86% of the population plans to celebrate Independence Day with a reception or other event (barbecues, picnics ...). Spending on beer and wine is $1.6 billion.
According to WalletHub data, for July 4, 2017, Americans spent $200 million on berry purchases, $131 million on cherries, $115 million on tomatoes
