China, an export market growing for New Zealand apples and kiwifruit

Growing Chinese demand is driving up New Zealand's exports of apples and kiwis.
NZ Stats, New Zealand's Statistics Department announced that several of the country's exports, including fruits, had risen in value in August 2019 pulled by the Chinese market.
Among the main export markets, the largest increase in value comes from China. Fruit exports increased by NZ $ 57 million, with kiwifruit and apples up on the previous year.
Kiwi exports for the 2019 season (April-August) increased by 17% in value and by 13% in volume compared to 2018. Exports of apples from the 2019 season (March-August) increased by 13% in value and 6.9% in volume compared to 2018.
