Zimbawe intends to revive its agricultural sector by developing its production and exports. This 1st participation in the Macfrut fair is an opportunity to discover innovations and to increase its exports to European markets.
Zimbawe enjoys a great abundance of arable land, and agriculture remains an important sector for the national economy accounting for 14% of the country's GDP and 40% of exports. The country exports many agricultural products, including corn, sugar cane, coffee, tea, but also blueberries, strawberries, peaches, garlic, ginger, peppers, avocados and pineapple.
ZimTrade, the national organization that deals with the development and promotion of international trade, leads the delegation which includes the companies: Procitru, Farm Bay and Murimi 24/7.
This 1st participation in the Macfrut fair is an opportunity to access the Italian market, in particular for avocados, blueberries, peaches and pineapples. The country already exports its agricultural products to Holland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Ireland, France and South Africa.
This participation also makes it possible to discover innovations, from leading companies in technology and packaging, which can play an important role in increasing the activities of African professionals.
