According to the latest estimates, French apricot production is estimated at -2% compared to 2022 and +21% compared to the average harvest from 2018 to 2022.
A publication by Agreste Conjoncture, an agency of the French Ministry of Agriculture, announces that apricot production in France, based on data as of June 1, 2023, is estimated at 125,000 tons.
This year, the total surface area reaches 11,100 hectares. In the Occitanie region (3,900 hectares, +4% on 2022), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (5,500 hectares, -5% on 2022) and in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region (1,500 hectares, -1% on 2022).
However, the precise impact of the hailstorms that hit production basins at the end of May is not yet known.
