FEPEX's Cherry Committee estimated that this 2019 crop year would record a decline in production compared to the previous year. The forecasts made at the last meeting show a decline in several regions (Extremadura, Aragón, Comunidad Valenciana, Murcia) and stabilization elsewhere (Cataluña, Andalucía, La Rioja).

According to these estimates, in the Extremadura region the fall in production is between 10 and 15% (36,233 tonnes in 2018), in the Aragón region the decrease would be 15% (32,559 tonnes in 2018), in the Comunidad Valenciana region the drop would be 30% (7,833 tonnes in 2018) and in the Murcia region the decline would also be 30% (3,042 tonnes in 2018).

In the other regions, production would reach similar volumes as in 2018, ie 6871 tons for the Cataluña region, 7 058 tons for the Andalucía region and 2191 tons for the La Rioja region.

FEPEX Cereza Committee is made up of the following associations, located in the main production areas: AFRUEX (Extremadura); AEAMDE, EXCOFRUT and APEPH (Aragón), ARIFRUT (La Rioja), AFRUCAT (Cataluña), FEXPHAL (Alicante), APOEXPA (Murcia).
