The National Agricultural Health Service of Peru (Senasa) has established the phytosanitary requirements for the importation of citrus fruits from the Eastern Republic of Uruguay.
Mandatory compliance requirements include the following:
.The shipment must have a phytosanitary import permit granted by Senasa, obtained by the importer, before certification and shipment in the country of origin and provenance.
.The shipment must have been subjected to cold treatment a) When the treatment is carried out in transit: note the date of start of the treatment, temperature, period of exposure, location of sensors and calibration. b) When the treatment is carried out in a chamber: write down duration of treatment exposure, temperature, location of sensors and calibration.
.The containers must be first use, resistant to handling, free of foreign materials to the product, with adequate labeling to allow the identification of the fruit with the common and scientific name, code, name of the packing house, name of the place of production. and authorization code.
.The shipment must be free of leaves, peduncle, soil and other contaminants in boxes or containers. Wooden pallets and containers must be free of bark and comply with quarantine regulations, as well as the Phytosanitary Inspection at the point of entry into the country.
