Pears prices have skid down by 20% in Ukraine

Pears producers have started to decrease prices for pears within Kiev wholesale market (Ukraine). Based on the recent information, 20% price drop for this kind of fruits has been registered at the beginning of the current week in Kiev (capital city of Ukraine). It stands to mention that against 2,2 EUROkg pears costs during 04.05/2015 – 08.05.2015 period, current week prices for pears have dramatically gone down to 1,8 EURO/kg in Ukraine. Price plunge could be attributed to low quality of pears from local storages together with quite low demand from local consumers part. Nevertheless pears costs are still 2 times higher comparing to the previous season numbers, which could be traced to local currency devaluation and consequently imported fruits costs growth.
