The Argentine lemon continues its conquest of the world

After many new markets added in recent years, the Argentinian lemon will be able to reach the second most populated nation, India.

 

 

 

Negotiations to open the Indian market for Argentinian citrus began 10 years ago. In a joint statement, Argentina and India announced the approval of sanitary and phytosanitary controls so that Argentina could export lemons to India.

 

 

 

The date of the first export to India has not been defined.

 

 

 

As India does not produce these varieties of yellow lemons export opportunities seem important. In this country the 6 largest cities have between 100 and 110 million inhabitants of which 40 million belong to the middle class. Which represents a huge market.
