War of grapes between Chile and Australia

The exporters of Chile protest against Australia's campaign aabout the Chilean grapes, accused to be of lower quality compared to the local products.
A press campaign in Australia encourages not to buy grapes from Chile by arguing that the fruit has been fumigated with methyl bromide and that its quality is lower than the Australian grapes.
Asoex and Fedefruta protest and explain that this compound does not affect product quality. Chileans remember that negotiations between the phytosanitary authorities of the two countries have established the technical conditions for export of grapes. The free trade agreement between Chile and Australia entered into force since 2009.
The Chilean company Frutam has decided not to send to Australia the 15 containers of grapes valued at more than $ 1 million.
