Avocado Committee of Chile welcomes the new president

José Gabriel Correa was unanimously elected as the new president of the Avocado Committee of Chile A.G, replacing Gonzalo Bulnes, who was in charge for the last 10 years.
José Gabriel Correa is 41 years old, he is an industrial civil engineer from the University of Chile. In the past he was directing the Citrus Committee of Chile and the CAIA (USA). The last 10 years of his career he worked as the general manager of Banagro, Empresas Sutil, and Fruta Fresca. Today he leads the management of Inversiones Exportadora Baika, of San José Farms, an agricultural holding with a wide presence in Chile, Mexico, Colombia and Peru.
Correa plans to generate a long-term plan that will facilitate producers and marketers to advance along the path of sustainability, developing agriculture and protecting flora and fauna. He also projects to implement technologies that improve the efficiency of water consumption of crops and develop new productive areas with better water conditions, in the context of a severe drought that affects the country.
The new president of the union will continue to carry out studies and technical support for the sector, as well as reinforce good practices.
In addition, the Avocado Committee incorporated Agricom as a new member of the union, linked to the South African company Westfalia, a company that will be represented on the board by Carmen Gloria Luttges, the first female director in the Committee's history.
