Mango is the 3rd most exported fruit by Ivory Coast, after pineapple and banana.
Mango is the third largest fruit, after pineapples and bananas, which is the most exported by Ivory Coast. Accordingly Ivory Coast wants to increase exports and improve competitiveness (fresh and processed mango).
At the 1st Symposium dedicated to mango, the authorities and professionals of the sector took stock of the market. The challenges are many but perfectly achievable to develop and strengthen the sector.
Among the measures envisaged: increased processing capacities, market diversification, better techniques and practices to improve quality (orchard phytosanitary treatments).
Ivory Coast in 2016 produced 100 000 tonnes of mangoes, of which 32 628 tonnes were exported. In 2011, mango exports totaled 10,179 tonnes.
