Planned investments in farm holdings of Serbia
FJ
Operational farms rather than just agricultural lands.
According to a report of Chatham House, an independent body of international relations, agricultural investments by Persian Gulf countries are now evolving. "Agricultural" purchases continue but with a preference for farms and already operational farms.
Thus, a United Arab Emirates company intends to invest $ 800 million in ten farms in Serbia. With this new approach, the risk of conflict with local communities are limited and especially the initial period of operations, and therefore non-productivity is greatly reduced.
