Prohibited import for 1 year
FJ
The Russian government has banned imports of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs from the United States, European Union, Australia, Canada and Norway.
Response to previous penalties imposed against Russia, the ban will last one year and is about beef, pork, poultry, fish, cheese, milk and dairy products, fruits and vegetables.
Russia plans to replace the products banned by those from the CIS countries, neighboring countries (Turkey, Iran), countries in North Africa (Egypt, Morocco), Latin America (Chile, Argentina) and the BRICS (Brazil, China, India, South Africa).
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture relies on the "understanding" of commercial networks until the arrival of new suppliers on the Russian market. Russian consumers, in fact, could be faced with empty shelves at supermarkets.
