A new regional office based in Tunis to represent North Africa will be estblished by Fairtrade Africa.

A new regional office for Fairtrade Africa will open in Tunisia. The North African office is the fourth part of the continent to become a full member of Fairtrade Africa.


Based in Tunis, the regional office will represent producers. Members will work more closely together and exchange best practices to help develop their region.

At a regional level, there are 13 producer organizations: six in Egypt, 5 in Tunisia  and 2 in Morocco. There are 9222 Fairtrade producers of fresh produce, dried fruits, herbs and spices.
