The Agricultural Bank of the Dominican Republic (Bagricola) will support with an investment of $60 million the small and medium producers of pineapple destined for export in the provinces of Sánchez Ramírez and Monte Plata, announced the administrator of Bagrícola, Fernando Durán.
He stated that the lands of said provinces are in excellent condition for the production of high-quality pineapples, which later will be shipped to the European and US markets, where demand for the fruit continues to grow.
This investment is aimed to compensate pineapple growers who lost markets in the country and abroad due to the pandemic, by enabling them to plant new areas and utilize modern technology.
The official added that Bagrícola will provide producers with comfortable payment terms and technical advice.
