Exports to Libya quadruple

Tunisian exports of food products to Libya have quadrupled over the last few months.
According to the Tunisian Ministry of Trade and Tourism, the value of food exports to Libya has quadrupled from 53.1 million dinars (MDT) during the first 4 months of this year to 192.2 MTD for the first half of 2011.
Unrest in Libya and the flow of refugees has created a dynamic trade on the border between the two countries. The increase in demand for agricultural and food products made Libya the first destination of Tunisian products with a share of about 24% of total Tunisian exports during the period
Despite Libya's demand and the month of Ramadan, which causes an increase in consumption of almost 30%, the ministry has assured that the domestic supply will not encounter any difficulty.
