As of early 2026, the council includes 99 member organisations involved in Japan’s fruit and vegetable export industry.
The Japan Fruit and Vegetables Export Promotion Council (J-FEC) is working to support exports of Japanese fresh produce by promoting fruit and vegetables in overseas markets and helping companies involved in export activities.
The organisation, created in 2015, brings together producers, exporters and other industry groups to strengthen Japan’s fruit and vegetable export sector.
Its activities include sharing information on foreign markets, organising seminars and exhibitions, and providing guidance on export requirements and trade conditions. The council also promotes Japanese produce abroad through marketing and outreach initiatives.
Demand for Japanese fruit and vegetables has been growing in Asia and the United States, where consumers are increasingly interested in high-quality premium products.
At the same time, exporters still face challenges such as different quarantine rules, pesticide standards and logistics systems in overseas markets.
