"Minor" cultures are doing well

Almería region also produces broccoli, artichokes, peas and onions.
In addition to its flagship products (tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, watermelons, zucchini) Almería region also has "minor" productions. Nearly 2,000 acres of lands (including 1,775 in open air) the region has produced over 29,000 tons (broccoli, artichokes, peas, onions ...) which reported 19.3 million €.
For the 2012-2013 campaign, the culture of broccoli occupied 450 hectares and its production totaled 9,860 tons. The production of green beans reached 3,600 tons for 313 hectares, artichoke 2,676 tons for 218 hectares, the little pea 716 tons for 118 hectares, onion 2308 tons for 110 hectares.
