New variety of cherimoya

After five years of research, INIAP (Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Autónomo Agropecuarias) has created a new variety of cherimoya.

Bigger fruits (more than 500 g), sweeter and with better pulp. According to INIAP, this new variety offers better resistance to insect attacks and increased productivity.

For the institute, the cultivation of cherimoya is an excellent, profitable opportunity for the country's agricultural production. The supply of these fruits is still not widespread, while consumers' demand is increasing everywhere.
