China remains Peru’s largest market.
Peru’s export sector continues to expand, with agricultural shipments driving new highs in 2025. According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), the country’s total exports reached a record USD 8.73 billion in August, bringing cumulative exports between January and August to USD 55.64 billion, up 18.8% year-on-year.
Agricultural exports rose 20.9% to USD 8.2 billion, fuelled by strong global demand for avocados, grapes, and pomegranates, alongside steady growth in vegetables such as asparagus, chili peppers, bell peppers, and artichokes.
China remained Peru’s largest market, absorbing USD 20.73 billion in exports, followed by the European Union (USD 6.31 billion) and the United States (USD 5.73 billion) — all showing rising demand for Peruvian fruits.
Mincetur reported that 166 countries imported Peruvian goods in the first eight months of 2025, supported by 8,475 exporters, 67 % of them small and medium-sized enterprises. Twenty regions recorded export growth, led by Huánuco (+229%), San Martín (+107%), Amazonas (+72%), and Junín (+67%), highlighting the nationwide reach of Peru’s agro-export boom.
