Decline in U.S. imports

An American company has announced that the volume of U.S. imports is in decrease.
Zepoli, commercial intelligence company, said that the volume of U.S. imports, measured in TEUs (twenty equivalent units), fell of 9.94% between January and February 2011.
Shipments from Asia fell by 11.42% while imports from Central America rose by 4.88%, buoyed by growing imports of fresh fruit.
Ports on the Atlantic coast have the highest volume increases for the same period: West Palm Beach (FL) increases its volume of 37.86% and Chester (PA) of 18.73%, while the Pacific Coast saw a decrease in overall average of 14.15%.
