Armenia registered strong growth in exports, mainly of fruit juices and vegetables.
From government sources, exports of fresh and frozen vegetables increased sharply. For the United Arab Emirates, exports increased from 41.8 tonnes in 2011 to 182.8 tonnes in 2012. But it is especially in the field of fruit juices and vegetable that exports have increased.
The volume exported increased by 44%, mainly to France (112,500 liters) and to Russia (1,489,800 liters).
The country - which has exported 16,884 tons of fruit and vegetables in 2011 - expects to further improve this performance. In particular to the European Union, to which Armenia has requested assistance of EUR 3.8 million for the modernization of its food safety system.
