Peruvian pineapple exports on the rise

Peruvian pineapple exports between January and August 2021 totaled 155,581 kilos for a value of $3,665,762.

 

In the same period of 2020, the supplies reached 149,901 kilos, valued at $1,543,277, according to the Agrodata Peru report.

 

The main destination for these exports in 2021 was the United States, with placements for $ 3.5 million.

 

According to the General Directorate for Policy Monitoring and Evaluation (DGESEP) of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, until last year,  Peru counted with 15,180 hectares planted with pineapple, with a total production of 583,029 tons.
