Swaziland wants to increase its production of oranges and start a processing industry to increase revenues.
Swaziland, which is one of the five largest exporters of oranges to Europe, wants to increase production to meet demand.
The Swaziland Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA), estimates that production must increase and expand as demand is growing in Europe and other countries such as Turkey and Russia.
While calling for an increase in production, SIPA officials also want to broaden the range of products offered and especially to add value to products through processing. The country aims to find ways to make orange juice rather than import from South Africa.
