Avocado export volume reaches 559.000 tons to date

From the beginning of the season to date, Peru's avocado exports have reached 559.000 tons. This means an increase of 8% compared to the 517.500 tons shipped in the same period of the previous season, informed the president of the consulting firm Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz Benavides.
He stressed that at the end of this year's season, the volume of avocado exports would grow by 9-10%, compared to the previous season (530.000 tons), which will represent another record.
Benavides stated that in previous years, the avocado season would have already ended by this date, but this year they are still exporting the fruit and with higher volumes.
In March 2022, 31.000.000 kilos of avocado were shipped from Peru (37.000.000 kilos in March 2021); 65.862.920 kilos in April (67.408.597 kilos in April 2021); 100.810.781 kilos in May (87.683.053 kilos); 103.751.927 kilos in June (108.976.344 kilos); 116.441.892 kilos in July (107.757.873 kilos); 99.136.524 kilos in August (75.235.052 kilos); 25.471.217 kilos in September (as of the 12th); and it is expected to close the month reaching 50.000.000 kilos (26.528.925 kilos in all of September 2021).
