Objective 60 000 tons exported to the United States
FJ
Producers of the region of Valencia expect 60,000 tons of exports for the United States.
With 4 days in advance of the previous season, the first ship left PortCastelló to take the direction to Philadelphia, United States. The ship has embarked 3,000 tons of clementines. Each week one ship will leave for the United States, and at the apogee of the season two ships per week.
The producers of the Comunidad Valenciana want to renew the good results achieved last season. The United States had imported 61,000 tons of clementines, or 28% more than the previous year. The product is exclusively Clementine, in all its varieties. The fruits are subject to 2 strict controls, the first in the ports of Spain (Castellón, Sagunto, Gandia), the second in the United States, once landed.
The first loading included fruits, produced by cooperatives and private companies, especially Nulexport, Betxí Export, Martí Navarro, García Ballester, San Alfonso de Betxí, Anecoop, Bagú.
