Moissac will celebrate its Chasselas
The town of Moissac will celebrate on the forthcoming 20 and 21 September with many activities and many tastings of featured product: Chasselas PDO.
Chasselas of Moissac is considered as the jewel of white grapes. It is grown on nearly 660 acres in the northwestern department of Tarn-et-Garonne and south of the Lot.
Fine grain and bright golden color. Its eating quality and delicate flavor is more due to favorable conditions to the culture than the commitment of producers conditions to ensure the quality. The grapes are closely monitored on their conditions of production and marketing.
The contents of each package must be uniform and must contain only bunches of the same origin, variety and ripeness. There are two categories: 1 EXTRA and CATEGORY. Only the minimum weight of bunches makes difference.
EXTRA Category: 150g minimum, bunches in this class must be of superior and free from defects quality. CATEGORY 1: 100 g minimum. The following defects are allowed provided they do not harm the appearance of the product or its conservation: a slight malformation, a slight defect in coloring, very slight sunburn.
