Peru doubles February strawberry shipments year-on-year

Peru’s strawberry exports rose sharply in early 2026, driven by higher volumes, according to Agrodata.
In February, shipments reached US$3.91 million and 2.06 million kg, up from US$1.81 million and 943,380 kg a year earlier. The average price edged down to US$1.89/kg (2025: US$1.92/kg).
For January-February, exports totalled US$10.17 million and 5.51 million kg, compared with US$6.57 million and 3.51 million kg in 2025. Volume increased 6%, while value rose 1%, reflecting softer prices.
The United States led with 39% of export value, followed by Canada (29%) and Japan (9%). South Korea (5%) and Germany (4%) held smaller shares.
