Chilean cherry shipments through TPS exceed 325,000 tonnes in 2025-26

Terminal Pacífico Sur is a key hub for Chile’s cherry exports, where speed and cold-chain reliability are essential during the peak season.
More than 325,000 tonnes of cherries moved through the Port of Valparaíso during the 2025-26 export season, according to Terminal Pacífico Sur and Frutas de Chile.
The season ran from mid-November to the third week of January, a short but intense window in which the terminal handled nearly 25,000 refrigerated containers. Most shipments were headed to Asia, which absorbed close to 87% of total volumes, while the rest were distributed across North America, Latin America and Europe.
Handling such volumes required tight coordination and a strong cold chain, with specialised infrastructure and scheduling playing a key role during peak weeks. The season once again highlighted the pressure points of cherry logistics, where speed and temperature control are critical from port to destination.
