Frost causes major damage in Poland

Poland, like other countries in Europe, has just experienced severe frosts that will jeopardize fruit and vegetable production.

 

According to local media, the frosts have affected the whole country, and the losses are enormous for Polish agriculture. Loss rates vary according to region and crop, but in some areas losses could reach 100% of the harvest. 

 

The Association of Fruit Growers has asked the government for compensation for these losses. The extent of the damage has not yet been precisely established, and detailed assessments will take several more days. This episode of frost is not over, and Polish professionals expect to have to endure several more nights of sub-zero temperatures.
