CAP celebrates 50 years with a traveling exhibition which will visit the member countries during the year.
At 50 this year, the CAP has adapted to changes in Europe since its inception.
In the 60s, in a context of food shortages, one of its aims was to encourage farmers to produce. Then, generating agricultural surpluses, it developed mechanisms for managing the market. Aid is no longer linked to production and farmers are encouraged to produce according to market opportunities.
To celebrate this anniversary,
a traveling exhibition is touring Europe. The route began in Spain and then Greece, the Netherlands and Lithuania. Over the following months, the exhibition will visit Portugal, Bulgaria, Belgium, Romania, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Cyprus, Italy, Ireland, France, Germany, Poland and finish in Brussels in December.
